Overview

The Saban Center is an innovative community partnership that will bring together community, STEAM-centered children’s organizations including the Children’s Hands-On Museum (CHOM) and the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre, in a unique public-private partnership under the roof of what is currently the Tuscaloosa News Building. Part of the City’s Elevate Tuscaloosa Initiative, the Saban Center will bring STEAM programs together with theater, literature, outdoor recreation, and interactive learning for children and families in Tuscaloosa. The project will also include meeting and conference facilities central to the future development plans for the City of Tuscaloosa.

The Project Group partnered with local Volkert, Inc. to deliver comprehensive project management / owner’s representative services from pre-design to occupancy.

This project is in progress and in addition to predesign services, we assisted with the design team selection process and currently in contract negotiations to align scopes and onboard the design team.
